The Green Church is a church committed to love, peace, and justice. Things have changed a lot over the last few decades for both our church body and for the world, so in order to see our mission through to the fullest we decided to move in a new direction... We went green!!

This is our mission, this is our vision, this is our purpose. Everything we do is to accomplish this goal. To further elaborate:

 

We are a uniquely, non-judgmental people called by God

to reach out to un-churched persons and facilitate growth in

one another into fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ.

 

Our purpose is fourfold:

    *To love God above all else

    *To love others

    *To love ourselves

    *To love God's creation

 

We will do whatever it takes to accomplish our mission.

 

We have chosen to affiliate with the Philadelphia Baptist Association, the American Baptist Churches, USA, and the Association of Welcoming and Affirming Baptists.

 

We are a congregation which is deeply rooted in the teachings of Jesus, the Christ, as found in the Holy Scriptures. We follow Jesus wherever he leads, without regard to how other Christians perceive Christianity.

 

* We are faithful, but not religious

* We are followers of Christ, not followers of American civil religion

* We are radical in our faith and Biblical interpretation, neither liberal nor conservative.

* The Bible is the basis for our belief in God, but we are not traditional.

* We are sinners saved by grace, not judges sitting in judgment of the sin of others.

* We love all others, not just some.

* We are welcoming and affirming - not judgmental and denying.

* We believe in a ministry of the called -- men and women, not just one gender.

* We are The Green Church.
