The Green Church
Rev. Dr. Jeri Williams
Rev. Dr. Jeri Williams is the Senior Pastor at The Green Church. She was called to The Green Church, formerly Drexel Hill Baptist Church, in 1986 where she and her late husband, Rev. Lawrence A. Williams, shared a ministry for 28 years. In 2012, they moved from the Drexel Hill location, and created The Green Church.
It is no longer church as usual at The Green Church: on Sundays, there is a full day of celebrating the Sabbath! The morning starts with coffee and snacks at 10:00am, followed by worship at 10:30am, and then the congregation is invited to the parsonage for lunch and fellowship. All if this is done not only as a celebration but as a way to learn to love each other by spending time together in worship, Bible study, prayer meetings, and fellowship. Learning to love one another and going green both come under the missional goals: loving God, loving others, loving self, and loving God's creation.
Jeri has three sons - James (Michele), John (Rody) and Andrew, and multiple cats. She begins each day with several hours of devotions. She feels so blessed to be a minister and have this vocation because it allows her time to talk and listen to God. It is during this time in the mornings with God that she gets to find out where He is directing the church and she's excited to see where He leads next!
Rev. Edward Harding
Rev. Edward Harding is the Children and Youth Minister at The Green Church (formerly Drexel Hill Baptist Church). Eddie has been a long-standing member of the church. His parents and grandparents were great examples of people who lived their lives for God. Eddie was an active member of the church youth program and was baptized as a teenager.
Eddie attended Delaware County Community College where he received an Associate degree in Early Childhood Education. It was during this time that he became involved in helping out more with church activities and discovered his passion for helping children and youth develop a relationship with Jesus and deepen their love for God. He then attended Cabrini College and received a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education.
Under the guidance of the Williams' ministers, Eddies followed his calling to become a minister. He was licensed in 1999, graduated from Palmer Seminary in 2008 with a Masters in Divinity, and was ordained as a minister in 2012. Eddie is a mentor and counselor to many children and youth. He is a wonderful example to others on how to live your life for Jesus. He is a great witness and lives by The Green Church's mission statement to Love God, Love Other, and Serve the World.
